Pioneer Sherman Woman Dies After Short Illness with Heart Trouble

Mrs. Zarilda Belden, wife of the late E. J. Belden, a former well-known contractor of Sherman, died at her home, No. 1002 East Jones street, Saturday evening at 7 o'clock.  Death occurred after a week's illness with heart trouble, the deceased being 69 years of age

Funeral services were held this afternoon at 3 o'clock, in charge of the Rev. Cephas Shelburne, pastor of the Central Christian Church.   Interment was made in West Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Belden had made this city her home since 1880, moving here with her husband, Andrew Standerfer, whom she married in 1864.  Mr. Standerfer died in 1883, and in 1887 Mrs. Standerfer was married to the late E. J. Belden of this city, who died several years ago.

Surviving her are the following children:  H. B. Standerfer of Edgewood, C. F. Standerfer of Tulsa, Okla., C. L. Standerfer of Denison, Z. W. Standerfer of Harrington, Kans., Mrs. Iona Higson of Hayre, Pa., Mrs. H. Knecht of Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. Oscar McDaniel and Harry Belden of Sherman; also three step children O. J. and Hugh A. Belden and Mrs. W. F. Dennis, all of Sherman.

Mrs. Belden was a most estimable woman and during her long residence here had made many warm and true friends who sincerely mourn her death.  She was a true Christian woman, having been actively affiliated with the Central Christian Church for many years.  The surviving children will have the sympathy of all in their loss.
