Note: Standiford Cemetery located on Watterson Trail South in Fern Creek, Kentucky, at Stone Bluff Subdivision in front of the first known as the Standiford House. It is a small family cemetery. Time and tide of life passing over this plot day by day has leveled all the stones, but enough were left to get some names and dates; they were lying on the ground. There are seven stones.

Frances Adams Gunn, wife of Rev. W. Gunn, born November
24, 1808; died March 6, 1892
(* Frances Adams Gunn was the daughter of Nancy Standiford Adams.
Nancy Standiford Adams was the daughter of David and Frances Ashley Standiford.)
(I will include here an interesting account from the records of William
Adams Gunn obtain from David Standiford's DAR file)
"Nancy Standiford Adams went upstairs to get the saddlebags from under the bed when a
member of the family was going on a journey. It is supposed that she held the cnadle
too close to the fringe of the coverlid so that it became ignited. Later the family
found there was fire up there and Nancy Standiford Adams, wishing to save what she could,
wrapped herself in a wet blanket and went into the room. The fire was extinguished
but she was so badly burned that she died a couple of days later. It was thought
that the steam from the wet blanket was the cause----that if the blanket had been dry her
life might have been saved. This happed in Shelby County, Kentucky March 1837.
She was my grandmother.")
