Last Will and Testament of John Sandifor
In the name of God, Amen: I John Sandifor, being of __fort and memory, praise be to Almighty God, I do make this my last will and testament in manner as followeth:
First, I bequeath my soul to Almighty God who gave it and my body to be buryed according to the discretion of my friends and my wordly estate, I bequeath as followeth:
(Viz). First, I give to divide out of land which I now live upon being one hundred acres to my son John and my daughter Maryann to be equally divided between them and their heirs and the longest living of them and their heirs after my decease, and my now wife, Joannah's decease, one fother bed to my daughter Maryann; then, I give one fother bed to my son John; and for the rest of my household goods, I give equally between my son John and my daughter Maryann; then I give unto my son John all my books and I give all those before verified things given upon the oaths of my will is that if they fall to the other, then I give to my grandchild John Wooten (or Hooten) one mare foal and all her increase and I give to my grandchild Samuel Wooten one cow calf and all her increase. I give all my cattles equally between my son John and my daughter Maryann and to the longest life and their heirs and I give unto my daughter Maryann one mare by name of "Bonny" and all her increase. I give my hogs and all remainder of my estate whatsoever equally between my son John and my daughter Maryann and to their heirs and to the longest liver of them and their heirs forever. My will is my now wife Joannah shall enjoy all my whole estate during her widdowhood or her natural life and in case of her marrying then, and in that case ony, give her third of my estate and I do hereby ____my loving wife as my whole (?) (only?) executive of this my last will and testament, revoking all others and I do hereby announce or appoint this to be my last will and testament and witness my hand and seal this 12th day of March 1685.
