James Kenneth Lee Standefer

James Kenneth Lee "Stan" Standefer, 80, of Meadowbrook died at 12:06 p.m. Friday, November 14, 1997, at Wood River Township Hospital.
He was born February 27, 1917, in Carrollton, the son of Oscar and Louise May (Winters) Standefer. He married Velma Mae Hamilton September 26, 1940, in Bowling Green, MO., and she survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters and a son-in-law, Linda Reedy of Alton and Sharon and Don Smith of Alton; two sons and daughter-in-law, Paul and Angie Standefer of Bethalto and Ken and Marsha Standefer Jr. of Columbus, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Standefer, and two sisters, Ada Marie Standefer and Ruth Harlander.
Mr. Standefer was a member of the Boilermakers Local 363 out of Belleville. He retired in 1982.
Visitation was Sunday at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights, where funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday with Pastor Jesse Wiggins officiating. Burial was at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Memorial may be made to the Bethalto Church of God.
