Will of Joseph Aydt

THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF Joseph Aydt of the Town of Dahlgren in the County of Hamilton and the State of Illinois made and published this fourth day of December in the year of our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred and thirteen.

IN THE NAME OF GOD, AMEN. I, Joseph Aydt of the Town of Dahlgren in the County of Hamilton and the State of Illinois of the age of sixty years, and being of sound mind and memory, do hereby make, publish and declare this my LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT in manner following that is to say:

FIRST—It is my will that my funeral expenses and all my just debts be fully paid.

Second—I give and bequeath to St. John’s Catholic Church at Dahlgren, Hamilton County, Illinois, the sum of Fifty Dollars for fifty masses to be said for me, the said Joseph Aydt.

Third—It is my desire and I hereby request my Executor to place at my grave a monument costing the sum of Fifty Dollars.

Fourth—I give and bequeath to my dear good friend, Christena Aydt, for her care, attention, and sisterly kindness to me, for the many years that I have been in her home, one half of all the property both real and personal of which I may die seized after the payment of the amounts herein mentioned at items first, second and third.

Fifth—I give and bequeath to Anna M. Aydt, my beloved niece, for her care, attention and kindness to me, for the many years we have both had homes with my dear beloved brother, Charles L. Aydt, now deceased, and his good wife, Christena Aydt, one half of all the property, both real and personal of which I may die seized, after the payment of the amounts herein mentioned at items first, second and third.

LASTLY—I hereby nominate and appoint Anna M. Aydt to the be Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made.

IN WITNES WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and seal the fourth day of December I the year of our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred and thirteen.

The above instrument consisting of two sheets was now here subscribed by Joseph Aydt___ the Testator in the presence of each of us and was at the same time declared by ___him__ to be __his__ Last Will and Testament, and we, at his request, sign our names hereto in __his___ presence as attesting Witnesses.
