The Last Will and Testament
of Warner P. Anderson of the City of McLeansboro in the County of Hamilton and State of Illinois made and
published the 20th day of September in the year of our Lord One
Thousand Nine Hundred and Twenty Six.
In the name of God, Amen. I, Warner P. Anderson of the City of McLeansboro in the County of Hamilton and State of Illinois of the age of eighty three years, and being of sound mind and memory, do hereby make,
publish and declare this my Last Will and Testament in the manner
following, that is to say
First - It is my will that all my funeral expenses and all my just debts be fully paid. Second - After the payment of my just debts and funeral expenses, I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, Louisa Anderson, the sum of One Thousand Dollars as her own property; and the income and interest that may be derived from the sum of Five Thousand Dollars shall be taken from my estate and invested in good interest bearing securities, and at her death is to be divided equally between my children and heirs hereafter named. It is further my will that said principal sum of Five Thousand Dollars may be loaned or invested by my said wife in her own name if necessary, and in such manner that the principal will not be impaired. Third: I also give, devise and bequeath to my said wife, Louisa Anderson, my home, consisting of lots Number One Hundred Fifty seven (157), One hundred fifty eight (158), One hundred fifty nine (159) and on hundred sixty (160) in Heard's fourth addition to the town, now City of McLeansboro, Illinois, together with the residence and all the household goods therein, for life, and at her death to be divided equally between my children and heirs
hereinafter named.
Fourth: All the rest and residue of my estate including remainder, after the death of my wife, I give, devise and bequeath to my children. Mollie E. Bell, Chester C. Anderson, and Nora Hemphill, in equal portion, and in the
event of the death of either of my said children, without child or
children surviving them, then the surviving children or their
descendants shall take the whole of my estate equally between them;
and in the event of the death of
either of my children leaving surviving them a child or children, then
such last named surviving children shall take the interest of the
deceased parent.
Fifth: The provisions herein for the benefit of my wife Louisa Anderson, shall be taken and accepted in lieu of homestead, dower and widow's award. Lastly - I hereby nominate and appoint Louisa Anderson, without bond, the giving of bond being hereby expressly waived., to be Executrix of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof, I have hereunto set may hand and seal the 20th day of September in the year of out Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred and Twenty Six.
