Peter Sinks was born March 11, 1855 in Jefferson Co., IL and died June 13, 1922 at his home in Dahlgren.  He was the son of Powell and Mary Sinks.  He married Ruth Hart June 20, 1876. They had 12 children, four died in infancy; 8 survive: Mrs. H. A. Larkins, Dahlgren; Charles Edward, William Henry and Allie Albert Sinks of Mt. Vernon; Mrs. Alice Sights of Mt. Vernon; Fred Morlan Sinks, Lincoln; Arthur of Belle Rive and Powell Sinks of Dahlgren.

Mrs. Ruth O. Hart Sinks died May 18, 1935, aged 75 years, at her home in Dahlgren.  She is interred at Crysel Cemetery.
