America McElvain McMahan

America was born April 1, 1826 in Gallatin Co., IL to David and Lucinda Cook McElvain. 
 She married Reuben McMahan April 1, 1848 in Hamilton Co., IL.  
She died in Hamilton County on February 24, 1901 is buried in the New Prospect Cemetery in Hamilton County, with her husband, Reuben.

Despite her stern appearance, America was said to be a very kind and loving lady.
