| Adeline Belle Helms Malone Southwood was born in Thackeray, IL in 1886 to John Jefferson and Martha Matilda Wright Helms. The photo was taken about 1907. She is wearing her "widow's weeds", as her first husband, Christopher Columbus Malone, had been killed in a railroad accident at McLeansboro while working on the L&N Railroad. |
