LOG CABIN IN DAHLGREN

*Contributed by Rick McDonald.  Thanks!

Rick McDonald writes that William Schuster (who died in March 2003) told him that the house he lived in was an original 1800s log cabin.  Additions were added on throughout the years, but with his passing, Rick's parents eventually sold the house / property to a "Preservation Society".

Although the following information cannot be verified, this cabin was one of six originally built to shelter those working for the incoming railroads of the 1800s.  Of the six, this is the only one still in existence.  The construction crew who are dismantling and restoring it, hope to get it registered as a National Historic site.

Does anyone have an old photo of Dahlgren with this cabin in it?
