Charles and Anna Freida Gunter

   

Charles and Anna Gunter both have lived their entire lives in McLeansboro, Illinois.  Charles is the son of Harry Grover and Nora Meg (Gibbs) Gunter.  Anna is the daughter of Winsfield Scott and Martha Elzina (Sibbit) Heady.  Charles and Frieda are active people in their community and in their home lives as well.  They have reared eight children: Charles Edward, Donald Ray, Barbara Jean, Daniel Dean, Janet Fay, Freddie Eugene, Ruby Hellen and David Franklin Gunter.  Charles as a farmer by trade, raising several head of cattle and hogs.  Frieda worked hard every day providing for her family.  "Hard work yields happiness" would have to be their motto.  Charles and Frida live on the family farm just west of McLeansboro, the same farm that was homesteaded by Charles' great grandfather, Alexander J. Gunter and his wife, Rachel Yowell Gunter.  He is happy to announce to anyone who will listen that he was the oldest living relative that was born, raised and who raised a family on this farm!
