Young Illinois Pair: Surprise Friends by Marrying Very Quietly

SPECIAL DISPATCH TO THE GLOBE-DEMOCRAT.

McLeansboro, Ill. July 26.  Joseph F. Reeder and Miss Inez M. Cross, two prominent young people of this city, surprised their many friends here today by going to Mount Vernon, Ill. on the early morning train and getting married by Rev. W. L. Dorgan, in the parlors of the Baptist Church parsonage in that city.  They were accompanied from here by L. C. Little and a sister of the bride, Miss Nona Cross, both of this city.

Mr. Reeder has been one of Hamilton County's foremost school teachers, and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Reeder, of this city.  The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Cross, her father being until recently mayor of this city.  She is a member of the First Baptist Church, a member of the McLeansboro Rebekah Lodge, and has taught one of the rooms in the city schools for a number of years.  The young couple are quite prominent socially and have a host of friends who wish them well.
