TWO HOME BOYS MAKE IT GOOD
From: McLeansboro Times, August 10, 1922

It is clearly evident that any boy that is possessed with Hamilton County determination and grit can make good as is shown by Carl Barker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Barker of this city, and Wesley Biggerstaff, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Biggerstaff.

Carl, graduated last week with high honors after working his way through.  About one month ago Carl accepted a position with the Hampton ......Co., of West Frankfort and word was received here Monday that he had been appointed manager of a branch store of that firm in Christopher.

Wesley Biggerstaff, while but a youth of scarcely nineteen years has done exceptionally well since his departure about two years ago.  He is employed by the offices of a Railroad Company in Detroit, Mich., and during that time attended night school and finished his two years of high school work.  He is now eligible for the Detroit University.
