 Last Will and Testament of Elizabeth Sandifer

I Elizabeth Sandifer do make and ordain the following my last will and Testament (Viz)

To my daughter Mary (wife of William Lacey) I leave and bequeath fifty dollars.

To my Son Williams Sandifers Children I leave and bequeath Two hundred and fifty dollars to be equally divided among them.

To my Daughter Elizabeth, (wife of Thomas Simpson) I leave and bequeath a Negro girl named Molinda during my daughters life time, after the death of my daughter Elizabeth, then the Negro girl Molinda to go to Margaret Elizabeth daughter of my daughter Elizabeth and the heirs of her body, but in case that Magaret Elizabeth should die without leaving a child then the girl Molinda to go back to the Sandifer family, that is my Surviving Children.

To my Son Lowry I leave and bequeath One hundred dollars.

To my Son Green I leave and bequeath a Negro Man Named Moses during his life time and after the decease of my Son Green then the Negro Man Moses to go to the Children of my Son Green.

To my Son Philip I leave and bequeath a negro man named Tom.

To my daughter Catharine (wife of Mansfield Gordon) I leave and bequeath two Negro girls named Harriet and Mary. During her life time then the Negro girl Harriet to be divided among my daughter Catharine’s Children, and the girl Mary to go to Elizabeth Ann daughter of my daughter Catharine.

To my daughter Caroline I leave and bequeath a Negro woman Named Sarah and a Negro girl Named Margaret during her life time and after the death of my daughter Caroline then the Negro Woman Sarah and girl Margaret to go to my daughter Caroline’s Children to be equally divided among them.

To my grandson (Calvin) Son of my Son Green I leave and bequeath a Negro man named Jack to his and his heirs, If Calvin should die without leaving a child then the Negro Man Jack to go to Green Sandifer, Calvins Father, and at his death to go to Green’s Children.

To my grand Daughter Elvira I leave and bequeath a Negro girl Named Jean, to her and the heirs of her body If she should die without leaving a Child, then the Negro girl Jean to go to Calvin my grand Son.

To my three daughters (Viz) Elizabeth Catherine and Caroline I leave and bequeath all my household furniture to be equally divided among them, Except such beding and furniture as I have given to my grand daughter Elvira. The balance of my property (Viz) one Negro man Named Tony, a waggon a riding Chair The Crop that may be upon hands, Horses Cattle hogs Sheep farming Utensils and every species of property belonging to me not mentioned above. I allow to the sold, after my death, The money arising from the Sale of this property together with what other money I may have belong to me, I allow first to pay my debts and funeral expenses, and to pay off the Cash Legaces Mentioned above in this will, and if there be any balance left after paying the above Legaces I allow it to be equally divided between my two Sons Green and Phillip.

Signed Seald and acknowledged as the last will and Testament of Elizabeth Sandifer Oct. 17th 1832.

I appoint my sons Green Sandifer and Phillip Sandifer my Executers of this my last will and Testament.
