Allis Zachman

Allis Zachman, son of Lawrence and Annie Zachman, was boarn
near Belle Prairie, Ill, February 5, 1869; departed this life at his
home in Belle Prairie March 4, 1926, at the age of 57 years, 29 days.
He was married to Lottie Belle Schroeder July 16, 1892, and to this union seven children were born, two of whom died in infancy. He is survived by his devoted companion, an aged mother, two sons and three daughters, William of Thackery; Frank, Mrs. Rachel Knapp and Mrs. Helen Betts, all of West Frankfort; and Mabel Zachman of Belle Prairie; also one brother, John, of Terre Haute, Ind.p two sisters, Mrs. J. E. Aydt of McLeansboro, and Mrs. Cjas. Rubenacker of Belle Prairie; eight grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was baptized in St. John's Catholic church at Piopolis, Ill. His parents were pioneers, and he spent his entire life of usefulness in the community in which he was born. He was well and favorably known, having engaged in farming and other lines of business. He also served the people in the highest offices of his township, and was in the service of the best interests of his community at the time of his death. He loved his home and fmaily and was always ready to help any worthy cause, and he be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church at Belle Prairie, conducted by Rev. Voliva. Interment took place in the Crouch cemetery near Belle Prairie. |
