Ed SMITH Jr., 66 of McLeansboro died at 3:50 p.m. January 22, 1999 at
De Paul Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He
was a self-employed deal of Smiths Used Card of which he was the
foundered. He
was born on May 7, 1932 in Hamilton County to William Ed and Parry
(JOHNSON) SMITH and on February 17, 1958 he married Lois KNIGHT at the
Lick Creek General Baptist Church. Services
will be at 1 p.m today at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro and burial
in IOOF Cemetery in McLeansboro. Visistation will be on Sunday at the
funeral home. He
is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lois of McLeansboro, two sons, Jimmie
SMITH and wife Shari of McLeansboro and Gus Ed SMITH and wife Debra of
MIll Valley, California and two grandsons, Spencer and Jeremy SMITH. A
brother Harold SMITH and wife Katy of Sun City, California, two sisters,
Cindy DIAL and husband Garvin of Thompsonville and Louisa BOND and husband
Ernie of McLeansboro and several nieces and nephews. He
was of the Protestant faith and a former Sheriff of Hamilton County,
Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Stanley SMITH. |
