          William Walter GIBBS, 86 of Carmi and formerly of Macedonia died November 29, 2001 at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi.

           He owned and operated  Gibbs Feed Mill in Macedonia for many years.

           He was born on Feb. 2, 1915 in Mulkeytown to Giles and Alma (WRIGHT) GIBBS and he married Opal Mae REYNOLDS on June 11, 1938 and she survives.

          Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Gholson funeral Home in McLeansboro with Revs. Mark LEE and John SMITH, officiating and burial in Glenview Garden of Memory Cemetery near McLeansboro.

         In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Wayne GIBBS and wife Linda of Carmi, a daughter Louise BOWMAN and husband Loren of Nourbonnais and four brothers, Ivan GIBBS of Mt. Vernon, Byford GIBBS of Carmi, Glenn GIBBS of Homer, La. And Dean GIBBS of Portage, La. And a sister, Kathrine MC ROY of McLeansboro.  8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

          He was a member of Ten Mile Baptist Church and the Macedonia Masonic Lodge.

          He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Carl GIBBS and four brothers.
