Truman M. Gray

Truman Gray Truman M. Gray, 85 year-old resident of Route 1, Broughton in the Walpole community, died Sunday at 10:;00 a.m. in Pearch Hospital. He was a retired farmer, and since 1955 had made his home with a nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gray at Walpole. He was the brother of Mrs. Annie Ellis of Eldorado. Son of the late Millage and Naomi (Lewis) Gray, he was born on September 8, 1888. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Sarah Griswold; a son, Cydus Ear Gray, who was killed in France during World War II, and a daughter, Monette Gray. Surviving besides Mrs. Ellis are a sister, Mrs. Louis Johnson, Raymond, Ill; a large number of other nephews and nieces including Ralph Gray and Mrs. Mary Cotter, both of Eldorado, and three cousins, S. O. Gray of Eldorado, Erwin Gray, Evansville, and Mrs. Nellie Douglass, Mounds, Ill. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Mrs. Hattie Williams and Mattie and Ersia Gray. Funeral services were held at the Rogers and Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. Rev. John Deen officiated and burial was in Hickory Hill cemetery. Mr. Felty has Mr. Gray's given name as Thurman. |
