Nancy J. Maulding Thompson
Pub. Dahlgren Echo, November 29, 1917 Nancy J. Maulding, was born Feb. 26, 1865, in Hamilton County, Ill., and departed this life Nov. 21, 1917; age 52 years, 8 months and 25 days. Jan. 26, 1888, she was united in marriage to John L. Thompson, who survives her. To this union three children were born, Mrs. Nova Mead of McLeansboro, Mrs. Nola Carey of Mt. Vernon, and Arnold Thompson of McLeansboro. At about 18 years of age she was converted and united with the M. E. Church in Belle City and about 10 years ago she, with her family, transferred her membership to the M. E. Church here, where she lived a faithful member till the end. She had been in failing health for about two years. A short time ago she went to Mt. Vernon to consult a specialist, and it was thought she was getting along nicely, till last Wednesday morning, she passed away, at her daughter's home in Mt. Vernon. She was a very devoted wife and mother, and was loved very dearly by her family, but God in His wise providence thought best to take her away. Besides her own family, she leaves a father, two brothers, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her departure. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. W. Ivie at the family residence. Interment in I.O.O.F cemetery. |
