Truman Thaddeus "Thady" Sanders

Pub. Carmi Times, January 9, 1967 Truman Thaddeus "Thady" Sanders, 92 year old retired farmer residing on Marguerite Street in Carmi, succumbed Sunday at 7:20 a.m. in Carmi Township Hospital, where he had been submitted as a patient three days before.
He was born October 20, 1874, at McLeansboro, the son of Elmore and
Juanita Phelps Sanders, and was a veteran of the Spanish - American War
and World War I.
Surviving are his wife, Grace; a daughter, Mrs. Sally Kertz, of 501 Glove Street, Henderson, Kentucky; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. A son, Robert, preceded him in death. Services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Kittinger-Fair Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Leon Cochran officiating. Interment will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery. Graveside rites will be conducted by White County Post 3851, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Thady Sanders was a veteran of the Spanish American War. He served
with Company "D" 9th IL. Infantry.
