David R. Sullivan
From: McLeansboro Times, November 26, 1920 David R. Sullivan was born August 19, 1855, died at his home in Macedonia, Ill., Feb. 18, 1920, age 64 years, 5 months and 29 days. He was the son of David R. and Martha Sullivan, who preceded him in to the great beyond many years ago. June 6, 1875, he was united in marriage to Asintha Boster, and to this union were born seven children, two of whom, Louis and Curtis, departed this life in early childhood. The surviving children are Arthur and Orley of Macedonia, and Mrs. Roy Collard, Mrs. Claud Bence and Mrs. Orley Phillips. Mr. Sullivan was born and raised in our midst and his life is an open history. He professed religion many years ago and united with the M. E. church. Some years back he renewed his covenant relationship with the church and since then has lived an upright Christian life. His last illness was caused from an attack of influenza, which he contracted a year ago, and developed into pulmonary trouble, from which he never recovered. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, five children, two brothers and many relatives and friends. After a short service, which was conducted at the house of Rev. J. L. Miller, pastor of the M. E. church, interment was made in the Macedonia cemetery. |
