The funeral of Sophronia M. Tomblin, 82, of Gibson City, who died
Thursday, 12-26-1985 at Gibson Manor Nursing Home, Gibson City, will
be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, the Rev.
Gregory White officiating. Burial will be in Drummer Twp.
Cemetery, Gibson City, Ford County, Il. Visitation will be from
4 - 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. She was born 11-28-1903 in
Hamilton County, Il., a daughter of Frank and Augusta Grady Shirley.
She married Leonard D. Tomblin 7-29-1918 in Champaign County. He
died 1-3-1978. Survivors include two daughters, Mildred Davis,
Gibson City, and Mary Ellen McMahon, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; four sisters,
Ada Crowe, Detroit Michigan; Minnie Parker, Champaign; Irene Little,
Hoopeston; and Lois Price, Tolono; 9 grandchildren; and 11
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, one
daughter, two brothers and one sister. Mrs. Tomblin, a
47-year-resident of Gibson City was a member of the First Assembly of
God Church, Gibson City.
