Joseph W. Reynolds

Joseph W. Reynolds was born in eastern Tennessee on August 16, 1856. He died at his home near McLeansboro, Illinois, on May 29, 1934. When a youth he moved to French Lick, Ind. In 1881, he came to Hamilton County, Illinois, where he has since made his home. He was united in marriage to Virginia Chaffin in 1890, who preceded him in death in March, 1923. He was one of a family of six children, all of whom have preceded him in death. He was a life-long Methodist, being a charter member of Webb's Chapel church, later moving his membership to Concord. He was an active church member as long as his health would permit. He leaves to mourn their loss, two stepdaughters, Mrs. Madeline Stephens and Mrs. Mary Thompson, besides six grandchildren and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at Concord on May 30, age 2:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. C. M. Prince of Trenton, Ill., assisted by Rev. W. A. Weigant and the body was laid to rest in the cemetery at Concord. |
