Mrs. Elsie F. Overbey Pepple

From: Wayne County Press; April 18, 1996 Mrs. Elsie F. Pepple, 96, of Route 2, Belle Rive, died at her home south and west of Wayne City at 3:17 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 1996. She was a homemaker and at one point earlier in her life taught school for a time. Funeral rites were conducted Thursday afternoon (today) from the Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City, with Rev. Leland Ganieany, Rev. Glenn Payne and Rev. Tim Korver officiating. Burial was in Thomason Cemetery at Wayne City. Visitation was held at Richardson's Wednesday evening. She was born in Hamilton County, May 3, 1900, the daughter of Asa and Rena Sexton Overbey. She was married to Ivan Pepple. He passed away July 9, 1982. Also preceding her in death were her parents, an infant daughter, two brothers and five sisters. Mrs. Pepple was a member of the Long Prairie Missionary Baptist Church and the Illinois Farm Bureau. Surviving are three sons, Clarence Pepple, of McLeansboro; Robert L Pepple, of Ottawa, Kansas and Wayne Pepple, of Palo Alto California; one brother Henry Overbey of Belle Rive; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. |
