Obay Sanders

Pub. Unknown Newspaper Obay Sanders, 72, died at 1 p.m. Thursday at his home at 801 Smith Avenue, Carmi, after an illness of three months. He was born January 9, 1880, in White County, the son of Elmore and Nancy Lee Sanders.
Mr. Sanders had spent 12 years at the place where he died and had been a
plumber most of his life. He is survived by four sons, Wayne,
Norwood and Leroy all of Carmi, and Vernis of Evansville, Indiana,; two
daughters, Mrs. Thelma Juenger, and Mrs. Wilma Pate, both of Carmi, and
two brothers, James and Thady S. Sanders, both of Carmi. He is
also survived by fourteen great
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Kittinger
Funeral Home Chapel, with Danny F. Martin officiating. Interment
will be in the Maple Ridge Cemetery. The body was taken to the
family residence at noon today to lie in state until 1 p.m. Friday when
it will be taken to the funeral home to remain until time for the
funeral.
