Funeral services for John Samuel O'Neal, 29 years old, a former resident of McLeansboro, who died at his home, 417 Westmoreland street, Rockford, were held in the Wilton Mortuary Chapel, Peoria, Saturday afternoon.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John O'Neal, and was born near McLeansboro, Ill., April 29, 1901.  Before leaving for Rockford four years ago, he had been a resident of Peoria for __years.  He had been in the employ of the L. B. Price Mercantile Company for eight years and was manager of their office in Rockford.  He married ___ Janset in Peoria, January 1, 1925.

The survivors are his widow in Rockford, his father, John O'Neal, Los Angeles, California, and these four brothers and sisters: Oren, Luther and Albert O'Neal of Rockford, Willis and Annabel O'Neal, McLeansboro, Ill.; Mrs. Arthur Allen, McLeansboro, Mrs. Joe Richardson, Rising Sun, Ind., and Dr. A. Mae O'Neal, Los Angeles.

Those from here who attended the funeral at Peoria were: Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Allen and daughter, Verla, Willis and Annabel O'Neal, and John Sneed.
