          Lillian E. Hardy, 94, of Creve Coeur, formerly of Gibson City, died at 11:23 p.m. Friday December 20, 2002 at Methodist Medical Center, Peoria.  Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, with the Rev. Donald Zumwalt officiating.  Burial will be in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City.  Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the Gibson Area Hospital.

          Mrs. Hardy was bon August 24 1908 in Flora in Hamilton County, the daughter of Frank W. and Barbara A. Trausch Bakel.  She married Orville D. Hardy on May 25, 1929 in Flora.  He died October 10, 1981.  Surviving are two daughters, Rosemarie ((Wilber) Wills, Indianapolis; and Dorothy Phelps, Creve Coeur; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

           She was preceded in death by three sisters, one brother and two granddaughters.  Mrs. Hardy was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and made many quilts for family and friends.
