Rufus Frankin Ledford

Rufus Franklin Ledford was born in North Carolina, January 9, 1840, and departed this life December 25, 1917, age 77 years, 11 months, 25 days. He professed faith in Christ early in life and joined the Missionary Baptist Church at New Hope. He was married to Mary Malinda Hart, January 25, 1869. To this union were born 5 children, 4 boys and 1 girl. His wife and one son have preceded him to the great beyond. He told his children he was not afraid to die. He ore his afflictions with great patience to the end. So let us hope that our loss is his eternal gain. He leaves 4 children, namely, Wesley, Charlie, William and Luella Taylor of Moorland, Iowa, 10 grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn their loss.
