George LAWSON, son of
Andy and Almiranda Lawson, was born in Hamilton County,
October 19, 1878, and departed this life July 20, 1921, age 42 years, 9
months and 1 day. George was one of ten children, six of whom with the
father and mother have proceeded him to the great beyond. He was always
kind affectionate about the home, always making friends and
acquaintances wherever he went. he was stricken with typhoid, and
although all was done, that could be done to prolong his life, God saw
fit to call him away George is survived by one brother, Elisha Lawson
and two sisters, Mrs. Hannah Ray, and Mrs. Sarah Campbell, and other
relatives. Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church in
McLeansboro. Conducted by Rev. John Maulding, assisted by Rev. Roy
Gabbert, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Odd Fellows
Cemetery to wait the resurrection.
