Obituary of Cloyd Lane

Cloyd Lane, son of Moses and Minerva Lane, was born August 24, 1866, and departed this life July 7, 1941, at the age of 74 years, 10 months and 13 days.

He was united in marriage to Lucy Hansbrough October 3, 1891.  To this union eight children were born, and of these two preceded him in death.  He leaves to mourn his passing his companion and six children: Bert Lane, Mrs. Bessie Stevenson, Mrs. Etta Shell, Clarence Land and Ernest Lane all of Wayne City, Illinois.  Bill Lane of East St. Louis, Illinois, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and a host of relatives and friends, to all of whom he was a kind and loving husband and father, friend and neighbor.

MRS. CLOYD LANE OF WAYNE CITY DIES

Mrs. Margaret Lucinda Lane, 86, died at her home south of Wayne City at 11:35 a.m. Sunday.  She was the widow of Cloyd Lane, who died in 1941.

Funeral Rites Tuesday

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Olive Branch church, with Rev. H. H. Mayberry officiating.  Internment was in Garrison Cemetery.  The Richardson funeral home was in charge.  She was born in Wayne County May 12, 1870, the daughter of John and Harriett Miller Hansbrough.

List of Survivors

Surviving are four sons: Bert, Clarence and Earnest, all of Wayne City; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
