She was united in marriage to Barney H. Knight in 1845.  Mr. Knight passed away March 9, 1908, at the age of 84 years.  To this union were born four children, two having died in infancy; Rachael, wife of Wm. Ventress died in 1870; R. M. Knight, their son, passed away April 5, 1919, at the age of 66 years.

She, with her family, came to this county in 1860 and settled near the place where she has since lived until the death angel came and called her spirit home.  She professed faith in her savior in early life, and united the Missionary Baptist church in Kentucky.  After moving to this county she united with Knights Prairie church, where she lived a faithful member till death, being a soldier for her savior about 74 years.

Her life has been an open book to be read by all.  By her life she has won the friendship of all that knew her.  Besides being a faithful mother to a large number of orphan children, her greatest delight was to help some one that was in need.

She leaves to mourn her loss, 8 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.  On account of sickness in the neighborhood, funeral services will be held of the fourth Sunday in May at Knights Prairie, where the body was taken for burial
