        Anna Donley James, daughter of Cebron D. Donley and Haney Hart Donley was born June 8, 1863, near McLeansboro, Ill.  She departed this life Friday, June 11, 1937, aged 74 years and 3 days.

        She united in marriage with George W. James on November 2, 1882.  To this union six children were born, one dying in infancy.  Those surviving are: Mrs. John Frazier of McLeansboro, Frank James of Torrance, Calif., Mrs. Martin Grissom of McLeansboro, Harry and Herman.

        She professed faith in Christ when just a girl and united with New Hope Baptist Church, where her membership remained until death.

        Mrs. James was a good woman and always relied upon her Savior to guide her in the way of right.

        She leaves to mourn their loss, her husband, George James, the children, ten grandchildren and four sisters, Mrs. Lillie Crosby of Brookings, Oregon, Mrs. Julia Wilson, Mrs. Mary Davis and Mrs. Lizzie Stephens, all of McLeansboro.  One brother, George W. Donley, preceded her in death one week ago.

        She also leaves many other relatives and a host of friends.

        Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church in McLeansboro Sunday afternoon, June 13, conducted by Rev. John B. Maulding, assisted by the pastor, Rev. H. R. Moore.  Interment was made in the Odd Fellows cemetery.
