Nancy Deborah Cantrell Irvin

Nancy Deborah, daughter of J. O. and Ellen Cantrell, was born October 14, 1873; died October 23, 1924, aged 51 years and 9 days.

She was married to Obe Irvin June 15, 1904 and to this union one daughter, who died in infancy, was born.

At the age of eight she was baptized into the fellowship of the Christian Church at Walpole, later joining the Missionary Baptist Church at Hickory Hill.  In 1918, during a Pentecostal tent meeting she received the Gift of the Holy Ghost of which faith she remained steadfast until death.

She leaves to mourn their loss a husband, two step children, Henry Irvin and Mrs. Myrtle Appel of McLeansboro, one brother, Richard Cantrell of Walpole, three sisters, Zude Foster of McLeansboro, Mrs. S. R. Craddock of Benton, Ill. and Mrs. Senora Ritchey of Walpole, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at Dale by Rev. Willie Bratton of Carmi at the Tabernacle at 11:00 a.m. Friday morning.  Services were held at the Grove by the Royal Neighbors Camp of Dale.
