Harley Gross

Harley Gross, 86, of Wayne City, died at 3:25p.m. Saturday January 9, 1993 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.  He had been in failing health.  Mr. Gross was a retired farmer, a former janitor-bus driver for the old Aden School and was a former employee of the Illinois Dept. of Transportation.  Funeral rites will be a 11 a.m. Tuesday from the Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City, with Rev. Robert Seifried officiating.  Burial will be in Garrison Cemetery near Aden.  Masonic rites are planned at 7 p.m.  Mr. Gross was born in Hailton County November 20, 1906, the son of Thomas and Anice Davis Gross.  His wife, Alma (Hutchcraft) Gross preceded him in death.  Surviving are one son, Charles Edward Gross of Minerva, Ohio; two daughters, Mary Ann Reed of Findlay, Ill.; and Marjorie Loker of Keenes; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one brother, Felix Gross of Wayne City and two sisters, Edith Carlson of Palos Hills; and Claris Peters of Piggott, Ark.
