From: The Dahlgren Echo; 1907

Thomas Green, son of William and Mary Green, was born in Hamilton county 14 Jul 1836; died at the home of his son, Joel, in McLeansboro 8 May 1907.  He was married to Abashaba Trammel 28 Aug 1855. To this union were born 11 children, four of whom died in infancy.  John H., Tobitha, Joel, George, Hannah, Adam, & Lizzie still survive.  They all reside in Hamilton County except Adam who lives in E. St. Louis.  The remains were followed by a large procession and interred in the Mt. Pleasant cemetery.  He leaves a wife, seven children, and a host of friends to mourn his loss.
