Sarah Elizabeth Gray was born in Saline county, Illinois Jan. 3, 1841, and departed this life July 21, 1923, aged 82 years, 6 months and 18 days.

She was united in marriage to Jacob Twigg in 1861, and to this union two boys were born, Overton and James Twigg, Jr., all having preceded her to the Great Beyond.  She was then united in marriage to W. F. Gray in 1867, and to this union six children were born, namely, Molly, Eliza, John, Cora, Agnes and George, all having preceded her to the great beyond, except John, Eliza and George.

She professed faith in Christ at an early age and united with church at Hebron in 1868.

She leaves to mourn their loss three children, nineteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren, a host of relatives and friends.

She called her children around her bed side and told them goodbye and to meet her in Heaven.

Funeral services were held at Hebron July 22, conducted by Rev. Cowger and the remains were laid to rest in the Hebron Cemetery.
