FLORA AGATHA BOND GARRISON

Flora Agatha Bond, daughter of Leonard and Serena Bond, was born May 11, 1870, departed this life at her home in Aden Community, Hamilton County, Ill., December 31, 1951, at the age of 81 years, 7 months and 21 days.

She was married to Douglas D. Garrison in 1892, to this union 11 children were born.  She was proceeded in death by her husband and four children; two children passed away at an early age.  Howard passed away in December of last year and Edward passed away in February four years ago.  Those who survive her are Charlie of Divenon; Effie Malooley, Clyde, Rena Turner and Melba Turner, all of Peoria; Jennie Muehlenbein of Belle Prairie and Henry at home, who cared for his mother.  She was also survived by four living step-children, Walter of Virden, Cora Corlee of Clinton, Okla.; Mary McThompson of Belle Rive and Iva Adams of Mt. Vernon.  She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 17 step-children and 12 great grandchildren.

Aunt Flora as she was commonly called has lived a greater part of her life in Aden Community.  She was loved by all who knew her, both young and old.  She confessed Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and united with the Ellis Mound Missionary Baptist church.  She was a faithful attendant as long as her health permitted, always ready to witness for her Lord and Savior in testimony and prayer.  Through her passing her church has lost a faithful member, her children a loving mother, the community a loving friend and neighbor and we feel our loss is Heaven's gain.
