Pub. Unknown newspaper Martha Harriett Robinson was born Jan. 21, 1839 near Shawneetown, Ill.; died Jan. 5, 1924 at her home in McLeansboro. She confessed faith in Christ at the early age of thirteen and united with the old Concord church. Later in life, on moving to McLeansboro, she united with the First Baptist church, of which she remained a faithful member until her death. She was married to William L. Fowler Oct. 18, 1859. Unto this union was born ten children, five of them having preceded her in death, five left to mourn her loss as follows: Mrs. Emma J. Brills of McLeansboro; Mrs. W. J. Mangis of Kirkland, Ark.; Mrs. J. S. Ayres of Bend, Oregon; Mrs. E. W. Albaugh of New Baden, Ill.; Mrs. Walter Evans of East St. Louis. She leaves behind 22 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren 2 sisters Sarah E. Martin of McLeansboro and Josie Smith of Salt Lake City, Utah, one brother James M. Wilson of Los Angeles, Calif. She leaves a host of relatives and friends. She was a loving companion and a kind, affectionate mother, a great believer in prayer and the rule and guide of her faith. At her death she had read the New Testament through 23 times. Funeral services conducted at the home Tuesday, January 10i, 1924, by Elder John B. Maulding, assisted by Rev. E. W. Albaugh. Interment in Concord cemetery. |
