Joseph F. Campbell, an aged veteran of the Civil War, died Tuesday morning at the residence of his son, A. D. Campbell, with whom he made his home. Rev. Brittingham, his pastor preached the funeral discourse to one of the largest congregations ever assembled at Concord church on a like occasion, after which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at that place. Uncle Joe, as he was familiarly called was born nearly 67 years ago within one mile of where he died. With the exception of a few years he lived in White county he spent his entire life in Crook township. C. G. Cloud now owns the old Campbell farm near Concord. |
