Pub:
Times, March 13, 1930 James
Casey Brown,
son of Carroll and Frankie Brown, was born in Hamilton County, Illinois,
January 3, 1859; departed this life March 4, 1930.
Aged 71 years, 1 month and 4 days. He
was married to Martha Priscilla Boezkiewicz in October, 1888, who preceded
him in death December 20, 1921. To
this union, nine children were born, namely: Palmer of Alton, Ill,; Arlon
Johns of Buckner, Ill.; Troy of Galatia, Ill.; Paul of Eagle River, Wis.;
Bryan of Cincinnati, Ohio; Audrey of Alton, Ill.; Alex, who resides with
him; Margaret Estes of Harrisburg, Ill.; and one son who died in infancy. The
deceased united with the Primitive Baptist Church at Rector in 1922.
He was a man who stood for the right, and always dealt with his
fellowman honestly. The
children will miss Uncle Casey because he always had a love for them. He
leaves to mourn their loss, eight children, fifteen grandchildren, one
brother, Richard of Detroit, Mich., four sisters, Margaret Hall of Galatia,
Ill.; Alice Pulliam of Broughton, Ill.; Jamie Roberts of Lake City, Ark.;
Melvina Smith of Broughton, Ill.; one uncle, W. C. Lamkin of
Thompsonville, Ill., besides a host of other relatives and friends. Our
loss is his eternal gain. We
weep not as those who have no hope. His
will be done. Funeral
services were held at Rector, conducted by Elder T. E. Hopper.
Interment at Rector cemetery, Thursday, March 6. |
