SAM BOND OF EQUALITY DIED WEDNESDAY MORNING Samuel R. Bond, who was nearing his 8th milestone, passed away Wednesday at the home of his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Viola Bond, in Equality with whom he has made his home for the past several years. Death was due to general infirmities of age. Funeral arrangements are pending the arrival of the children. Mr. Bond was born October 10, 1851, at McLeansboro where he resided until 1885, when he came to Equality in Gallatin County to make his home. Mr. Bond engaged in the mining industry at Equality until his age prevented active work. Surviving the decedent are five children: Daniel of Elgin, Robert of Gideon, Mo., Emmett of Chakey (Chaffee), Mo. Mrs. Ethel Evans of Elgin and Mrs. Lydia Prentice of Rockford, his wife having preceded him in death several years ago. Numerous friends and other relatives also mourn his departure. Note: Samuel Riley Bond was the grandson of Mastin Bond and the son of Richard Wade and Lidda (Lydia) Johnson Bond of Hamilton County, IL. |
