BLANCHE HAMSON

          Blanche “Fern”  (WARD) HAMSON 86 of Dahlgren died March 3, 2001 at Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon..

         She was a homemaker.

          She was born December 16, 1914 in Rend City to Alfred and Mamie (BRITTON) WARD and  she married Silas Jonathan HAMSON on December 24, 1931 in Frisco and he died Feb. 8, 1999.

          Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Haree Funeral Home in Dahlgren with Revs. Richard Mc Cormmick and Steve HAMSON, officiating and burial in IOOF Cemetery in Dahlgren.  Friends may call to the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

          She is survived by two sons, Silas E. HAMSON and wife Mary of Dahlgren and Alan HAMSON and wife Susan of Dahlgren, a daughter; Violet MEBALEK and husband John of Dahlgren, two sisters Hattie  May DAVENPORT of Mt. Vernon and Nola HAMSON of Belle Rivel 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews and step grandchildren.

          She was a member of the Dahlgren Baptist Church.

          She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers, one sister and an infant son.
