Winneford Anderson was born in Hamilton county, Ill, Dec. 12, 1840, departed this life at her home in McLeansboro, October 23, 1909, aged 69 years, 10 months and 7 days.  She was married to Wilburn Anderson in 1864 and to this union 9 children were born, 5 boys and 4 girls, and all (are) living.  The father passed away 29 years ago, leaving to her the care of a large family, and she devoted her life to their care in such a way that all are devoted Christians and exemplary citizens.  At the age of 12 years she united with the Ten Mile Baptist church and all her life she lived up to the teachings of the church.  She died in the triumph of a living faith.  Death had no terrors, and during her last hours she sang the songs she learned at church in her younger days.

Funeral services were held at Ten Mile church, Sunday, by Rev. Joe Allen, and the presence of the large concourse of relatives and friends testified to the love felt for her in life.  After the services the body was laid to rest beside that of her husband.
