Obituary

Frank A. Allen, son of Joseph and Mary Allen, was born January 10, 1857, departed this life May 16, 1918.

He was born and raised in McLeansboro.  In 1881 he was united in marriage to Luella Edwards.  This union was blessed with seven children, five boys and two daughters.  His wife and one son have preceded him to the great beyond.  In 19014 Mr. Allen was again married to Miss Susan McCarty, who survives him, together with his six children.  He leaves to mourn him, a loving wife, 6 children, 6 grandchildren, two brothers, C. J. Allen of McLeansboro, Chas. Allen of Caruthersville, Mo., two half brothers, Foe of Washington, D. C. and Lasalle of Chicago, besides a host of relatives and friends.

Mr. Allen was reared a Methodist by an indulgent Christian mother.  He was a loving husband, a kind father, a good neighbor and will be sadly missed in the community.

Funeral services were conducted by C. W. Ivie at the family residence Sunday, May 19, at 4:00 p.m.  Interment in IOOF Cemetery.
