Eliza A. Allen was born November 10, 1846; died August 21, 1923, aged 76 years, 9 months and 11 days.

On January 1, 1867, she was married to Z. B. Allen and to this union eight children were born, of which five have preceded her in death.  The three who survive her are, Rhoda Johnson, of Golden Gate, Ill.,; Florence Price, of Greensburg, Kansas; and Harry Allen, of this community; one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Williford of Taylorville, Ill.  She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.

She professed religion and joined the Cumberland Presbyterian Church September 29, 1859, and was faithful to her church and her God as long as she lived.

She had many relatives, friends and neighbors who deeply mourn to lose her, but we are glad to know that she lived that life that will win for her a far more blissful life in the Great Beyond.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Billie Davis at the M. E. Church in Broughton.
