Sometime in the recent past the headstones were moved to Albion Cemetery, near
Norris City, Illinois, just prior
to the farm being sold and passing from the family.

Sarah's last name was probably Cross...in olden days, a figure like 'f'
stood for a double 's'. She was 88 years old when she died. Buried on the
Hardesty family farm, but her headstone was moved to Albion Cemetery near Norris
City, Illinois.

and never did become a U.S. citizen. He was a classic saleman, and
sold everything to everyone. At one time he also sold Amana refrigerators
and products, as well as
Muzak systems. He was one of the first people in Cedar Rapids to
demonstrate the new thing called
'TV' back in the forties!!

Frank had a dispute with some of the family, and left home with his wife. After
graduating from University of Chicago, he worked for Swift Meats. He ended up in
Charleston, West Virginia...last started his own meat packing plant and went
broke during the depression... He worked for Sun Life Insurance company, of
Canada in Charleston, and ended up moving his family to Seattle, Washington. He
worked there for Pope & Talbert Co., in real estate. He retired and died
from a heart attack. At some point in time, Franklin changed his name to Frank
Allen; his son is Frank Allen Jr. Ref: Jesse Hardesty's (1853) Bible.
