In the
cemetery of All Saints Chapel, St. Peter's Parish, Barbados, we find the following
inscriptions: "Here lyeth interred ye body of the Honble William
Sandiford Esq. one of ye Judges of this Island, born
in Bristoll dyed ye 30th of Decm. 1668, age 80 years. Also Capt. Henry Sandiford,
his son, age 33 years, dyed ye 7th of September 1685. Also Elizabeth Standiford, his
widow, age 82 years, dyed ye 29 of March 1701".
"Here
lyeth interred ye body of Mrs. Elizabeth Forster who departed this life
ye 18th day of January 1717 in the 62 year of her age. She was twice married; her
first husband was Coll. William Standiford, Esq. and her last, Captain Jno. Forster,
Esq."
"Major
Nathaniel Kingsland of Barbados, planter, leased his plantation in Suriname in 1664 for
five years to his nephew, William Standiford. Col. Standiford banished in 1662 from Surinam and in 1668 from
Barbados by Lord Willoughby, removed in 1670 to Carolina".
